I start broad.

I explore ideas, references, techniques and different directions, allowing the work to develop before committing to an answer.

Once something starts to emerge, I become increasingly precise. I begin refining, removing and testing until the idea becomes clear.

The process is different for every project, but the principle stays the same: explore widely, understand deeply, refine carefully.

I work best with people who have a vision, even when they’re still figuring out how to articulate it.

I like asking questions, finding the idea underneath the brief and turning it into something tangible.

I can work independently, collaborate with an existing team or lead a project from beginning to end.

Whatever the project, I care about making the process clear, considered and enjoyable, as well as making the final work right.

I want to continue directing visual storytelling projects across live-action and animation, while developing my own work beyond client projects.

I want to write books and become an author, build a product business and create educational courses covering the creative disciplines and processes I’ve learned.

Alongside all of that, I want to provide the best possible experience for every client I work with. From the first conversation through to the finished work.

I’m interested in film, games, science, philosophy, technology, sport and the bigger questions surrounding creativity, meaning and existence.

I like understanding how things work and finding connections between subjects that initially seem unrelated.

My Christian faith is an important part of how I understand those questions and how I approach creativity, purpose and the things I make.
